Dianne is improving from fall

UPDATE Tue. 5-19-2020 - 5:30 p.m.

Dianne had both physical and occupational therapy in rapid succession this afternoon.  She is naturally tired but doing well.  They are happy with her progress, and quick to spot when she is attempting to rush or shortcut.  You know Dianne!

Thanks again for a committed Health Care Team, and thank you all for your prayers, calls, etc.  Please continue them, and also continue to stay safe.

UPDATE Tue. 5-12-2020 - 10:15 a.m.

After consultation with the back specialist this morning, it was determined that based on Dianne's progress, near lack of pain, and the small size of the fracture, surgery is NOT suggested.  Continued physical and occupational therapy is expected to yield satisfactory results.

Thank you for a committed Health Care Team, and thank you all for your prayers, calls, etc.  Please continue them, and also continue to stay safe.

UPDATE Sun. 5-10-2020 - 11:00 a.m.

The update I tried to post last night at 9:00 p.m. was lost when the computer crashed, so I'm doing this in small pieces.  Dianne continues to improve, not as quickly as we want, but steadily.

Her spirits are good and we are blessed.  Thank you for a committed Health Care Team, thank you all for your prayers, calls, etc.  Please continue them, and also continue to stay safe.

This time the computer let me finish!

UPDATE Thur. 5-7-2020 - 9:00 a.m.

Dianne is scheduled to have her second occupational therapy session this afternoon, and her second physical therapy session either later this week or early next week.  Her spirits are good and we are blessed.  Thank you for a committed Health Care Team, thank you all for your prayers, calls, etc.  Please continue them, and also continue to stay safe.

UPDATE Tues. 5-5-2020 - 7:00 p.m.

Dianne had her first physical therapy session today and her first occupational therapy session yesterday afternoon.  She is responding well, and has spent several hours sitting up and watching TV.  This is a big change and improvement from her first four days back at home.  Thank you for your prayers, calls, etc.  Please continue them, and also continue to stay safe.

UPDATE Mon. 5-4-2020 - 10:00 p.m.

Dianne had her first occupational therapy session this afternoon, and is scheduled for her first physical therapy session tomorrow afternoon.  Thank you for your prayers, calls, etc.

UPDATE Mon. 5-4-2020 - 10:05 a.m.

Dianne still improving, slow but steady.  The in-home Therapist will see her later today for the first time.  Thank you for your prayers, calls, etc.

UPDATE Sat. 5-2-2020 - 11:11 a.m.

Dianne seems slightly better - Her small appetite is slowing returning.  Has a little more strength - I think she is off the pain pills.

UPDATE - Fri. 5-1-2020 - 9:10 a.m.

In-Home Nurse visited yesterday.  Dianne will have in-home physical and occupational therapy.  If we are slow responding to your calls, please forgive us.  There is just one old man here caring for Dianne.  Thank you for your prayers and offers of help.

UPDATE - Wed. 4-29-2020 - 6:30 p.m.

Dianne is home and feeling better.  Will be doing some type of follow-up treatment.

Thanks for your prayers.  Please keep them coming and take care of yourself.

Original post below:

Dianne is currently at Ahuja Medical Center being treated for lower back pain after a fall.  She is talking well, and so far has had:

  • A complete examination and evaluation.
  • A patch applied to the lower back to relieve the pressure.

Because of restrictions in place to protect patients, staff, and visitors during the Corona Virus Pandemic, NO ONE including myself is allowed to visit.

I may not be able to respond to all calls, but anything I know, I will post on this page.

Also as a reminder to some and a revelation to others.  I am very S-L-O-W at Texting, so if you text me and need a response, please include your Email Address, so I can respond the old-fashioned way.  At 79, what else would you expect?

Please be patient, prayerful, and take care of yourself and your family.  Dianne is in good hands.

Thanks for your prayers and concern.  Please bookmark this page and check back as often as you would like.

Retroactive post of event (now that I'm catching up) from Tues. 4-28-2020 - 11:10 a.m.

There goes Dianne off to Ahuja Medical Center after her Doctor's on-line exam a few minutes ago.  Dianne had suffered a fall on Friday, and was not showing improvement.  Because of the current pandemic, I could not accompany her.  I suppose she would rather take a ride with two strong young men in the ambulance, than one old man crawling around with back pain from dragging her off the floor after her fall.  A great decision for us both.
